Step-by-step explanation:

2x + 3y = 4 \:  \:  \:  \: i)

 - 4x + y = 6

solving this equation by elimination method.

multiply i) by coefficient of x in ii) and multiply ii) by coefficient of x

 - 8x  - 12y =  - 16

 - 8x + 2y = 12

 - 12y + 2y =  - 16 + 12

 - 10y =  - 4

y= 2/5.

putting the value of y in equation i)

2x -3×2/5=4

2x-6/5= 4

2x=4+6/5

2x=26/5

x= 13/5

so value of x= 13/5 and y= 2/5 answer
