Debate topic: School is not only for studying
For the motion:
“All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”
Honorable judges, guests, teachers and my worthy opponents, I thank you all for giving me opportunity to join this debate on topic “School is not only for studying”. My name is xyz and I would like to speak in favor of the motion.
Schools were designed to function as the center learning since time immemorial. But learning is not limited to academics, they are meant for overall development of children. They are designed to provide children complete physical, mental and emotional development. That's why apart of academics, many activities are usually included in the school curriculum such as sports, art, music, yoga and exercise, dance, drama etc. These activities help in enhancing creativity, developing personality and assist students to maintain a balance in their lives.
Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rightly said:
“Our education apparatus can't be one that produce robots. "That can happen" in laboratory. There has to be overall personality development.”
