a) Schottky defects is a vacancy
defect which lowers the density of
the solid crystal. In this an equal
number of cation and anion is missinf from
the interstitial site and this leads to the
lowering of the density
b)Silicon contains 4 valence elcetron
whereas phophorus has 5 valence
elcetron.When silicon is doped with
phospsorus 4 ot of 5 electron is used in
making covalent bond whereas 1 electron
remains.This leads to increase in
conductitvity due to extra electron presne
in the lattice

Hey !!

In Schottky defect, some ions are missing (or due to vacancies) from their normal lattice sites due to which density decreases.

Good luck !!
