As equal no. Of cation nd anoins r missing from the solid from the latice site of the solid .. (the nutrality remains the same .)see the stitiometry does not change in thus case as the ratio remains the same ... But the missing ions from the latice site make the space empty ...nd v know that density mass upon volume so .. Mass of the solid decreses ...nd mass nd density are directly porpotional .... So density also falls

Hey !!
In Schottky defect as the number of ions are missing from their normal lattice sites, the mass decreases wheareas, the volume remains the same. Due to this the density decreases.
