Given : A solution contains 200 g of common salt in
809 g of water.
To find : Calculate the concentration of solution?
Applying formula :
1) Mass of solution = Mass of solute + Mass of solvent.
2) Mass percentage = Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100.
Calculations :
→ Mass of solution = 200 + 809
→ Mass of solution = 1009
→ Mass percentage = 200/1009 × 100
→ Mass percentage = 0.198 × 100
→ Mass percentage = 19.8%
Therefore, 19.8% is the mass percentage of the solution.
