tissue is a cellular organizational level between cells and a complete organ. A tissue is an ensemble of similar cells and their extracellular matrix from the same origin that together carry out a specific function. Organs are then formed by the functional grouping together of multiple tissues

Hope it helps✌✨

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Plant body is composed of different types of tissues. Unlike animals, plant bodies is abundant in dead supportive tissues. In plant body, the growth is not uniform, i.e, their growth is confirmed to particular regions. Plant tissues can be divided into two according to their dividing abilities:

  • Meristematic tissue (actively dividing)
  • Permanent tissue (non-dividing)

{\underline{\underline{\bf{Meristematic\:tissue}}}}

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The plant tissue that can be divided throughout its life is called meristematic tissue. According to their position, these tissues can again be divided as:

  1. Apical meristem It can be seen at the growing tips of roots and shoots, and helps in increasing the length of root and stem.
  2. Lateral meristem It occurs between mature tissues. In grasses, it is responsible for the regeneration of parts eaten by grazing herbivores.
  3. Intercalary meristem It is responsible for the increase in girth of plant body.

{\underline{\underline{\bf{Permanent\:tissue}}}}

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The tissues that do not undergo division are called permanent tissues. Depending on whether they are made of one type of cell or different types of cells, these tissues can be divided into two:

  1. Simple permanent tissue
  2. Complex permanent tissue

\large\underline{\sf{\green{Simple\: permanent\:tissue}}}

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎This kind of tissue is made up of only one type of cell. Simple permanent tissues are of different types.

\bullet Parenchyma

\bullet Collenchyma

\bullet Sclerenchyma

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎\small{\boxed{\tt{\red{Parenchyma}}}}

  • They are living tissues.
  • Their cells can be spherical, oval, polygonal or elongated.
  • Parenchyma cells have a thin cell wall and dense cytoplasm.
  • They're involved in various functions like photosynthesis, gaseous exchange, food storage, etc.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎\small{\boxed{\tt{\red{Collenchyma}}}}

  • They consists of living cells.
  • Their cells can be oval, spherical or polygonal.
  • Collenchyma cell wall is irregularly thickened at the corners.
  • Their function is to give mechanical support and flexibility to the plants, which helps the plant to bend without breaking.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎\small{\boxed{\tt{\red{Sclerenchyma}}}}

  • They are dead tissues.
  • Their wall is thick due to lignin deposition.
  • They're present in the fruit walls of nuts or seed coats of legumes.
  • Their function is to provide mechanical support to plant organs.

\large\underline{\sf{\green{Complex\: permanent\:tissue}}}

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎This kind of tissues are made up of more than one type of cell. There are two different types of complex permanent tissues.

\bullet Xylem

\bullet Phloem

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎\small{\boxed{\tt{\red{Xylem}}}}

  • It transports water and minerals that are absorbed through roots from the soil.
  • And also provides mechanical support to the plant.
  • Tracheids, Vessels, Parenchyma and Fibres are the different elements of xylem.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎\small{\boxed{\tt{\red{Phloem}}}}

  • It transports the products of photosynthesis to various parts of the plant body.
  • Sieve tubes, Companion cells, Parenchyma and Fibres are the different elements of phloem.
