1) Atomic no. goes on increasing from left to right within the period.

The small atomic radius has less attractive force between nucleus and outermost shells. Whereas The highest atomic no. has high attractive force of attraction between nucleus and outermost shells. They appear to be small due to high attractive force.

2) I think F is metallic and O is nonmetallic.
