Science in the Service of Mankind

Life today is governed and conditioned by the offshoots of science and It is very difficult to imagine existence without them. Science, the new child of the age is hailed as the leader of the modern world. All phases of life, like agriculture, medicine, business, communication, transport, industry, press and various other departments of life are highly indebted to science. We passed the stage of treating anything as impossible for we have to believe anything and everything to be possible.

The invention of locomotion, motorcar and aero-planes and all other means of transport by sea. air or land we owe very much to science. Distant places in the world have been brought closer. Communication has also been made easier and quicker by means of telephone radio and other tele-communications. On account of the development of scientific methods of transport and communication, trade and commerce have prospered enormously. Invention of electricity has revolutionised our lives. Discovery of the steam power has ushered in a new era of industrialisation.

Science has done wonders in the field of medicine and surgery. We are armed to fight fatal diseases like Cholera, Plague, Small pox, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Except death everything has been conquered by medical Science Scientific researchers have greatly improved seeds, plants and thereby leading to number harvest, Pesticides have eradicated all plant diseases and the yield from the field is growing day by day.
