Science knowledge is important to many occupations, not just scientists. An example of this is the use of global winds by airplane pilots. Global winds are formed because the air on the Earth has different temperatures due to uneven heating. When the air has different temperatures it causes the air to expand and move. The warmer less-dense areas rise while the cooler more-dense areas sink creating a cyclical current. This movement of the air along with the Earth’s rotation, causes the global winds as shown in the diagram.
A: Earth’s poles
B: The Sun

Answer:

The sun

Explanation:

The star at the centre of the Solar System is the Sun. It is a nearly perfect ball of hot plasma that has been cooked by nuclear fusion processes in its core to incandescence. The Sun is the most significant source of energy for life on Earth, radiating this energy mostly as light, ultraviolet, and infrared radiation.

The Sun's radius is around 109 times greater than that of the Earth at 695,000 kilometres (432,000 miles). Its mass is approximately 330,000 times that of the Earth and accounts for 99.86% of the solar system's total mass. [20] About 73% of the mass of the Sun is made up of hydrogen; the remaining 25% is largely helium, with much lesser amounts of heavier elements including oxygen, carbon, neon, and iron. [21]

A G-type main-sequence star is The Sun.
