• All of the different types of life that are present on Earth are referred to as biological diversity, or biodiversity. Three layers of biodiversity can be identified and quantified: species, genetic, and ecosystem diversity. The number of distinct species in an environment or on the entire planet is referred to as species diversity.
• The Himalayan Kashmir region has over 3054 kinds of plants. There are 506 species in Jammu. Only angiosperms, gymnosperms, and pteridophytes are included in these statistics. Western Himalayan plants are renowned for their therapeutic qualities.
• Animals of all sizes and shapes inhabit this planet. Over a million species are found in the biggest Phylum of the animal kingdom alone. From tiny grasses to gigantic Eucalyptus trees, there are many different kinds of plants. Diversity refers to the variety of living things.
• There are five kingdoms in Whittaker's widely accepted classification: Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia. These categories are created based on the bodily organisation, mode and source of nutrition, and cell structure of the members.
