Crystals of copper sulphate are prepared as follows:

*Take a beaker filled with water and add a few drops of dilute sulphuric acid.

*Heat the water. When it starts boiling, add copper sulphate powder slowly.

*During this process stir continuously.

*Continue adding copper sulphate powder till no more powder can be dissolved.

*Filter the solution.

*Leave it for cooling.

*Slowly, the copper crystals will separate out.

Answer:

For rusting, the presence of air(oxygen) and moisture(water) is required. Painting prevents direct interaction of iron, air and moisture. Hence, painting of an iron gate prevents it from rusting.
