scientist are planning to build settlements on the moon and are trying to make arrangements to live there you know that there is no Air on the moon how will it possible to live on the moon​

if the requirement is only air , maybe you can use an oxygen tank , for long term we can have electrode built redox tanks which undergo chemical reaction and salt formation to give water and oxygen and the condensed water can be used to quench thirst.

for food , definitely the only way is Spirulina or chlorella or other edible algae(microbes) , they are very very rich in proteins (100 times more than any meat) even 1 gram can provide energy for weeks together (if you are wondering , that is what is found in fish foods in aquarium) , now even pharmaceuticals sell Spirulina and other food suppliments, as i said they are rich in proteins

If you are really craving for some vegetation, you can possibly grow food in Hydroponics, or soil less culture, it involves the use of water with plant harmones and other chemicals manually being added , it just tastes fresh as soil grown and it thrice as much healthier than soil grown
