Before sahara was a desert,it might have been covered by water like the other cities.although it was not a city, the sahara might have been under water and contains living beings. But due to climate change.it have become deserted and killed the living beings inside it

before Sahara was a desert it might have a head water from the Atlantic ocean or from the Mediterranean sea or from the Red Sea and the conditions would also have been good that's why the various crops and the fishes also grow .
