Answer:

Acceleration = 15 m/s²

Explanation:

Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity per unit time.

In terms of Formula it is written as:

⇒ Acceleration = ( V - U ) / t

Where,

  • V is the final Velocity
  • U is the initial Velocity
  • t is the time taken

According to the question, the scooter starts from rest. Therefore U is 0 km/hr. V is given too be 54 km/hr. Time taken is 15 seconds.

Since Time is in seconds we will convert the speeds to m/s.

⇒ U = 0 km/hr = 0 m/s

⇒ V = 54 km/hr = 5/18 × 54 = 15 m/s

Now Substituting in the formula we get,

⇒ Acceleration = ( 15 - 0 ) / 15

⇒ Acceleration = 15 / 15 = 1 m/s²

Hence the acceleration of the scooter is 1 m/s².

Hope it helped !!
