scooter is accelerated from rest with 5 m/s2
for 8 seconds and then it retards uniformly and finally come to
rest. If the total distance covered by the scooter is 200m, calculate the retardation produced in it.

acceleration = 5 m/s²

time = 8s

distance traveled = ½*5*8*8 = 160m

final velocity = 5*8 = 40m/s

reat distance = 200-160 = 40m

retardation = -40*40/2*40 = -1600/80 = -20 m/s²
