QUESTION:

Scooter travelling at 10 m/s speed up to 20 m/s in 4 sec. Find the acceleration of scooter.

Answer:

acceleration of the scooter = 2.5 m/s²

Explanation:

given that,

Scooter travelling at 10 m/s speed up to 20 m/s in 4 sec.

here,

initial velocity of the scooter will be 10 m/s

and

also final velocity of the scooter will 20 m/s

time taken for accelerating the scooter is 4 seconds.

now,

we have,

initial velocity(u) = 10 m/s

final velocity(v) = 20 m/s

time taken(t) = 4 seconds

by the equation of motion

v = u + at

where,

a = acceleration

putting the values,

20 = 10 + a(4)

4a + 10 = 20

4a = 20 - 10

4a = 10

a = 10/4

a = 2.5 m/s²

so,

acceleration of the scooter

= 2.5 m/s²

Initial velocity = u

final velocity = v

time = t

u = 10 m/s

v = 20 m/s

t = 4 seconds

v = u + at

20 = 10 + 4a

4a = 20 - 10

a = 10/4

a = 2.5 m/s²

so

Acceleration = 2.5 m/s²
