Given :- Scott likes to run long distances. He can run 20km in 85 minutes. He wants to know how many minutes it will take him to run 52 km at the same pace ?

Solution :-

we have given that,

  • scott can run 20km in 85 minutes .

So,

→ in 85 minutes scott covers a distance of = 20 km.

then,

→ in 1 minute scott cover a distance of = (20/85) = (4/17) km .

now, we need to find at same pace in how much time he will cover a distance of 52 km.

Therefore,

→ (4/17) km distance covered by scott in = 1 minute .

→ 1 km distance covered by scott in = 1/(4/17) = (17/4) minutes .

→ 52 km distance covered by scott in = (17/4) * 52 = 17 * 13 = 221 minutes. (Ans.)

Hence, at same pace scott will cover 52 km in 221 minutes.
