As we know that pressure is the ratio of force to the area,

P=FA

sThus, when a diver forms a streamline then this helps the diver in smooth diving without having any smash with the surface of the water due to its surface tension. That is smaller the area, smaller will be the force or upthrust provided by the water on the diver and thus diver can dive with more pressure easily into the water.
