Sea water tastes salty due to the dissolved salt. The salinity (the proportion of salts in water) of some water bodies Lonar lake - 7.9 %, Pacific Ocean 3.5 % , Mediterranean sea - 3.8 %, Dead sea - 33.7 %. Explain two characteristics of mixtures from the above information.

Seawater tastes salty because of presence of salt in it. The concentration of salt in some water from a some different places are given as  

Lonar lake - 7.9 %,  

Pacific Ocean 3.5 %,  

Mediterranean sea - 3.8 %,  

Dead sea - 33.7 %.

From the above-given data, it can be seen that :

(1) The density of the water of the dead sea will be more than the other water given in the options.

(2) The more the density of water the more will apply upthrust force on an object. So, when we put an object in the water of dead sea more number of object keeps floating in it more than the water of the other place given in options.
