let it be 3x and 2x....(i)
ratio of expenditure is 5:2
let it be 5y and 2y....(ii)
frm (i) and (ii)
3x-5y=1000
2x-2y=1000
solving for x and y we get
y=250 and x=750
..
so A's income=3x=3*750=2250
