Let the number of seats for Mathematics Physics and Biology be 5x, 7x and 8x respectively.
Here, Mathematics = 5x
Physics = 7x
Biology = 8x
Now, According to the Question Statement!
*There is a proposal to increase these seats*
So, In Mathematics 40% of 5x
=1 40/100×5x
= 700x/100
= 7x --------(1)
So, In Physics 50% of 7x
=1 50/100×7x
= 1050x/100
= 21x/2-----(2)
So, In Biology
= 175/100 × 8x
= 1400x/100
= 14x -----(3)
From Equation (1),(2) and (3)!
7x: 21x/2:14x
= 14x : 21x : 28x
= 2: 3 : 4
Hence, Required the Ratio of Increased seats 2: 3 : 4.
