sec 0° = 1 .why ?

 \cos(0)  = 1 \\  \sec(0 )=  \frac{1}{ \cos(0) }  \\  \sec(0)  = 1

Method 1

cos 0° = 1

sec ∅ is reciprocal of cos ∅.

So,

sec 0° = 1

Method 2

sec 0° means a right angled triangle with no perpendicular or perpendicular of length zero.

So, base will be equal to hypotenuse.

Hence, sec 0° = 1 = Hypotenuse / Base
