Answer:

sin^2A + cos^2A = 1

Divide both the sides of the above equation by cos^2A =>

tan^2A +1 = sec^2A

[since sin^2A/cos^2A = tan^2A and 1/cos^2A = sec^2A]

So , sec^2A = tan^2A +1

=> sec^2A - tan^2A = 1
