Carnatic wars were a series of wars fought between the British and the French for the occupation of the trading ports in India. There were several reasons which led to the success of the Britishers in the Carnatic wars. Some of them are as follows:

1. The British had a strong naval force than the French. They brought soldiers from Europe to compete with the French and in return send supplies from Bengal.

2.The East India Company was a private company whose main motive was to gain profit through trading business. So, they were more focussed in their goal of occupying the important trading ports in India which the French lacked.

3.The British had strong bases in Calcutta, Madras and Bombay. They also had strong hold in other bases compared to the French whose main base was in Pondicherry only.

4.The British had competent and able administrators like Robert Clive, Lawrence etc.who could make the trading company grow larger and stronger.

5. Finally the victory in the Battle of Plassey was a turning point for the Britishers as they managed to get huge resources of a rich area like Bengal.
