Second ionisation energy of an element is higher than its first ionisation energy,why?

yes the second ionisation energy is higer than first because after the first ionisation energy in which one electron is removed and when it comes to second electron to be removed we can see that the no: of protons are more than no: of elctrons
that means the nuclear charge is more ........so to remove the second electron more energy is to be applied
