Answer:

The first round table conference took place in 1930 in London. The congress party was absent there because Gandhi and other congress members in jail. The conference successfully agreed that India must be given a dominion status and participation of Indians in the British government. This conference also decided to make sure that the rights of minor communities were safeguarded.

The second round table conference took place in 1931 in London. In this conference Gandhi and other congress members were released from jail to attend the conference. In this conference Gandhi represented congress; Agha khan, Allama Iqbal and Mr. Jinnah represented muslim league; Master Tara Singh represented Sikhs and Dr Ambedkar represented the daltis(the untouchables). The issue here was the suitability of separate electorates but Mr. Gandhi's stubborn attitude in rejecting other parties and insisting that only congress represented all of India led to the failure of the conference.

There was also a third round table conference in 1932 in London. It was poorly attended as there were hardly any delegates. This conference also produced no results.

Hence, all of the three round table conferences were failures.
