Secondary SchoolMath 6+3 pts


A hemispherical depression is cut out from one face of a cubical wooden block such that the diameter l of the hemisphere is equal to the edge of the cube . Determine the surface area of the remaining solid .
In this ques . Surface area should be 6a2 + 2pi r2 bcuz when we cut out hemisphete then its curved surface get carved there and only the circular base gets eliminated then why it is just pi r2 ? Can anyone explain !! I cant get it plzz help fast
