9.17. A class 10 student, Sneha make a geometrical design on a square paper with each of sido
10 cm. Four semicircle are drawn with each side of the square as diameter
Answer the following questions,
Find the area of P and S part​

Given :-

• Side of square = 10 cm.
• Four semicircle are drawn with each side of the square as diameter .

To Find :-

• Area of geometrical design ?

Solution :-

From image we can see that,

• Side of square = Diameter of circle.

so,

→ Diameter of circle = 10 cm.

→ Radius of circle = Diameter / 2 = 10/2 = 5 cm .

then,

→ Area of geometrical design = Area of 4 semi - circles + Area of square => 4 * (πr²/2) + (side)² => 2π(5)² + (10)² => 50π + 100 = 50(π + 2) = 50(3.14 + 2) = 50 * 5.14 = 257 cm². (Ans.)
