1920's.

The Samoan children during 1920 did not went to school.After birth their parents took care of them for some days after that their older siblings took care of them.
The children after growing 3 5 or so had to take care of their siblings after growing 8 the boys could join other adults for fishing and planting coconut saplings while girls had to still look after babies and do household works after 14 years girls had much more freedom they could also go for fishing or weave baskets.
