Birth and early life
Mr. Sreedharan was born in Kerala in the year 1932 and had a keen interest in the way things worked. He attended the Victoria College in Palghat, and it was only later that he decided to pursue civil engineering. He pursued this program from the Government Engineering College, Kakinada, which was later renamed to Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University.
After graduating as an engineer, Sreedharan served as a lecturer for a brief period of time and taught civil engineering at the Government Polytechnic in Kozhikode. Post this, he started as an intern for the Bombay Port Trust.
