Given:

Three equations of 2 variables x and y

with values of x and y

To find :

Whether the given values of x and y are solution of the equation

Solution:

(a) \, 2x-4y = 32\ ; \, (8,-4)\\\\Putting\ x=8 \ and \ y=-4 \\\\Then\, LHS = 2\times(8) -4\,\times(-4)\\\\=16+16=32\\\\Here \, 32 \ is\ equal \, to\ RHS \\\\Thus (8,-4)\ is\ a\ solution\ of\ the\ equation

(b) \, 4x-2y = 10\ ; \, (3,-1)\\\\\\Putting\ x=3 \ and \ y = -1 \\\\Then\, LHS = 4\times(3 -2\,\times(-1)\\\\=12+2=14\\\\Here \, 14 \ is\ not \ equal \, to\ RHS \\\\Thus (8,-4)\ is\ not \ a\ solution\ of\ the\ equation

(c) \, 2x=5\ ; \, (0,5)\\\\\\Putting\ x=0 \ and \ y = 5 \\\\Then\, LHS = 2\times(0-0\,\times(5)\\\\=0+0=0\\\\Here \, 0 \ is\ not \ equal \, to\ RHS \\\\Thus (0,5)\ is\ not \ a\ solution\ of\ the\ equation
