Answer:

M. K. Naik is a scholar of Indian English literature and this book will shed any doubts (if someone has) about this idea. His analysis of issues; his style of introducing the students to ideas; his recognition of important figures and his writing in general... everything will be more than enough for the students of English literature. However, one thing, that the book is not very lengthy, is something that the students who have read Iyengar's book will find it a little disappointing. The book could have been a little lengthier and it could accommodate more than what it has now.

With its brilliant introduction, which has become a must-read for any course on Indian Writing, Mr. Naik traces what exactly encompasses I.W.E and the politics behind its formation. Most of the major writers are elaborately discussed with painstaking commentary on each of their works. The list of writers mentioned is so huge that by the time you finish reading this book, your Amazon cart would be brimming with books upon books.
