Answer:

Total score in all 40 innings is

50×40=2000

Total score in other 38 innings

38×48=1824

Therefore sum for Maximum and minimum score is 176

Difference of maximum and minimum score is 172

Maximum+ Minimum = 176

Maximum - Minimum = 172

SOLVING

maximum = 174

Minimum= 2

The question written is not correct, the values mentioned required to be changed a bit. The correct question is solved below.

The maximum Score is 174

The minimum Score is 2

GIVEN:  Total score in 40 innings and Total score in 38 innings
TO FIND: The maximum and minimum score
SOLUTION:
As we are given,

The total score in all 40 innings is

= 50×40

= 2000

Also,

The total score in the other 38 innings is

= 38×48

= 1824

Now, we know,

The Sum of the Maximum and a minimum score

= 2000 - 1824

= 176

And,

The difference between maximum and minimum scores is

= 172

Now, We get

Maximum+ Minimum = 176

Maximum - Minimum = 172

Solving the above-mentioned equations by adding both equations.

               Maximum+ Minimum = 176

          +   Maximum - Minimum = 172

             2.Maximum + 0             = 348

                Maximum                    = 348/2

                Maximum                    = 174

Therefore, the maximum score is 174.

Now, put the value of the maximum score as 174 in any equation.

Such as

Maximum+ Minimum = 176

174 + Minimum = 176

Minimum = 2

Therefore, the minimum score is 2.
