There was a circular path around a sports field. Soham took 12 minutes to drive
one round of the field, while Baani took 18 minutes for the same. Suppose they
started at the same point and at the same time and went in the same direction.
After how many minutes have they met again at the starting point?

Time taken by Bani to drive one round of the field= 18 min

LCM of 18 and 12 gives the exact number of minutes after which they will meet at the starting point again.

Prime factorization of 18 and 12:

18 = 2× 3×3 = 2¹× 3²

12= 2×2×3 = 2² × 3¹

LCM of 18 and 12= 2² × 3² = 2×2 × 3×3 = 36.

Hence, Soham and Bani will meet again at the starting point after 36 minutes.
