23. There is a narrow rectangular plot, reserved for a school. The length and breadth of the plot are in
the ratio 11:4. The perimeter of the plot is 750m. What are the dimensions of the plot? Find
the cost fencing the plot at the rate of Rs. 100 per metre.

Let the length of rectangular plot = 11x

Let the breadth of rectangular plot = 4x

Perimeter = 2(l + b) = 750 m

2(11x + 4x) = 750m

2(15x) = 750

30x = 750

x = 750 / 30

x = 25

Hence

Length of Rectangular Plot = 11x = 11(25) = 275 m

Breadth of Rectangular Plot = 4x = 4(25) = 100 m

Cost of fencing of 1m = Rs. 100

Cost of fencing of plot with perimeter 750m = 100 × 750 = Rs.7500.
