In the play "The Dear Departed', you have come to know how Abel's daughter
behaved in an inhuman manner. They were not affectionate towards their father and
were waiting for him to die so that they can take over his property. They imagine and
conclude that Abel was dead and start fighting between themselves for their share of
the property.
Abel wakes up from his sleep and realizes that his daughters don't love him and
they are after his property. So he decides to move out from the house and get married to
Mrs. John Shorrocks. His children are shocked but Abcl doesn't change his decision and
is resolved to lead a life on his own away from them.
Now imagine you are a news reporter and based on the information given in the
above passage write an interview making use of the following points in about ten
exchanges.
► Introduction
► The personal and family details of Abel
► The behaviour of his children which hurt him
Getting to know his children's intention and felling sad
The decision to remarry and stay away from his children
His message to the senior citizens​
