Both are harmful for the health and integrity of the country. Moreover, the government which fails to control communal sentiment proves fatal for the unity and integrity of the nation, considering the pluralistic content of India as nation state. Communalism or religious fanaticism once aroused will cease only after taking the toll of basic ideals that have bound India together. We are a Secular country above all. Playing hard on the sentiments of any religious community will prove disastrous for the whole nation. Religion or religious sentiments still holds the key to the survival of a country.
On the other hand a corrupt government is likely to have deteriorating effect on the economic health of the country. It will hamper the progress of the country and lead to more severe socio-economic ills like poverty, malnutrition, unemployment, poor health infrastructure and so on. However, if such government is doing everything to promote secularism in the country, it will save the country from being disintegrated. A corrupt government can destroy only the economic fabric of the country, but a anti-secular government can destroy the unity and integrity of the nation. The former is inefficient but latter is treacherous, the former is self-centred but the latter is annihilator. Both are to be cursed but the latter can spell the proverbial doomsday for India as a nation state, hence, deserve more curse and repudiation than the former.
