Explanation:

We should prefer a secular polity to a theocratic one because a secular polity allows its citizens to live freely.

Explanation:

The citizens have the choice to choose their preferred religion and practice it freely without any interference. The ideologies are free to be followed. Furthermore, in a theocratic system the government has certain official who decide the rules and regulations based on religious laws, whereas in a secularism no one has the authority to create any state laws against religious practice at all, force anyone to follow a certain religion, which makes secularism a better option in contrast. The correct freedom is when your free to do whatever you believe in. For example, you may follow or not follow a certain religion and no one can force you to do it. Secular polity promotes the concept of equality.
