Secularism in the USA
Secularism concerns aiming for a separation of church and state, irrespective of one's own religion or lack thereof. Not to be confused with secularization which refers to the historical prosses in which religion losses social and culture significance.

secularism is basically a notion that totally rejects religion or religious considerations in state affirs. yes many today believe that religion has nothing to do with state affairs. in US for example they hold the constitution to be above everything even the bible or atleast this is what they claim. but simply saying that we are secular does not mean that religion is not important at all. i mean religion somehow move in the psyche of the people. in they more or less defend it where it is up against the stae or man made law. for instance the US president take oath on the bible. so one would ask that if US is secular then why not take oath on constitution rather than bible, which is the holy book of christianity. i hope it clear some of your points
