Many sedimentary rocks are used as building materials. Sandstone, limestone, marble - all sedimentary.
They are also the primary fossil bearing strata. Certainly makes them useful for paleontologists.
As the fossil bearing strata, they are also important in terms of fossil fuels. Coal is itself a sedimentary rock - and was used as the primary fuel of the industrial revolution and is still a major source of power generation today. That's pretty useful.
A lot of the continental plates, including our mountain ranges are made from sedimentary rocks. Without them, we wouldn't have any place to go skiing, and we'd be sitting in a lot more water.
