Use the Ideal gas equation.
V1/V2=T1/T2
let the area of the base part of cylinder
V2=45+5=50
V1=45-5=40
T1=300K
40/50=300/T2
T2=300×5/4=375K

------------------ Here is your answer ---------------
No 4th is wrong answer 5 th is correct
☆ In this question given a cylinder which is closed at both ends is separated into two equal parts
● Given (45 cm each )
● Temperature of gas 300 k and pressure of 1 atm
● shift the piston 5 cm
● Find Temperature and pressure
use the Ideal equation
v1 /v2 = T1 /T2
v2 = 45 +5 =50
v1 = 45 -5 = 40
T1 =300 k ( given )
40/50 = 300 /T2
T2 = 300 ×5 / 4
T2 = 375 is the correct answer
■ Now hope you understand why (D) is not correct answer and don't be comfuse in pressure it's 1.125 atm
■ it's simple question don't be comfuse about D because sometime answersheet answer which is given may be wrong
☺ As our conclusion your answer is definitely T= 375 k and p = 11.25 atm
