Seeds are often grown in nurseries and the transplanted in the fields. What is the disadvantage of this?

The cost of engaging labour for the transplantation process is very high.

Seedlings are exposed to external environment such as excess heat, water, moisture, dirt etc which may harm its growth.

Direct seeding process is much quicker than transplanting process because no recovery time is needed.

Plants show some kind of stress symptoms after being transplanted in the fields.
