After the assassins are gone from the senate house leaving Antony alone with Caesar’s corpse, Antony expresses his true feelings and emotions about the assassination. He asks Caesar’s soul to forgive him for being gentle and meek with the butchers (all the senators who murdered Caesar). He calls him the noblest man in the entire history of humankind.
