Seema is 5 years older than her younger brother. After 9 years, the sum of their ages will be 53 years. Find their present ages.

.Find their present age.

Let the age of younger brother = x years.

Let the age of seema is = x + 5 years.

After 9 years the sum of their age is 53

=> x + 9 + x + 5 + 9 = 53

=> 2x + 23 = 53

=> 2x = 53 - 23

=> 2x = 30

=> x = 15

Therefore,

Present age of younger brother x = 15

years.present age of seema = x + 5 ; 15 + 5 = 20 years.
