Seema is 9 year older then Been. in 10 year, Seema will be twice as old as been was 10 year ago. Find their present ages.

Let the present age of seema = x.

Let the present age of Been = y.

Given that Seema is 9 year older than Been.

x = y + 9  ---- (1)

Given that In 10 year, Seema will be twice as old as Been was 10 years ago.

x + 10 = 2(y - 10)  ----- (2)


Substitute (2) in (1), we get

y + 9 + 10 = 2y - 20

y + 19 = 2y - 20

2y - y = 20 + 19

y = 39.

Therefore the age of Been = 39 years.

The age of Seema = y + 9

                                = 39 + 9

                                = 48 years.
