Seema takes a carrot and cuts its lower end. She dips the carrot (lower end) in water containing red ink and leaves it for few hours. Then, she cuts it horizontally. She observes red colour in the central part of the carrot.

1.Why does the central part of the carrot turn red?

2.Which tissue is responsible for this change?

3.What happens if phloem tissue is removed and the same experiment is carried out?

Answer:

here is your ans.

Explanation:

1-bcoz the carrot and all plants contain tissues 1st is xylem and 2nd is phloem .Xylem tissue helps in transport of water in all parts of the plant so when the carrot is kept in the water xylem trasported water in the carrot due to which the center part turned red. (phloem transports food and minerals sometimes water also)

2- Xylem Tissue

3- (not sure)The carrot still maybe turn center red bcoz the work of transporting water is of xylem tissue
