Given : Seg PS ┴ ray RQ, seg QT ┴ seg PR.

QR = 6, PS = 6, PR = 12,

To Find : QT

Solution:

Area of Δ = (1/2) * base * height

Area of Δ PQR

Base PR  and height QT

= (1/2) * PR * QT

Base RQ  and height  PS

= (1/2) * RQ * PS

Equate Area

(1/2) * PR * QT = (1/2) * RQ * PS

=> PR * QT = RQ * PS

PR = 12

QT = ?

RQ = PS = 6

=> 12 * QT  = 6 * 6

=> QT  = 3
