Take for example the cell membrane it acts like the security man at my birthday party who did not allow unwanted guys into the party. By unwanted guys I mean guys without invitation. Here the invitation can be taken as a channel protein or a carrier protein.

Also looking at the ribosomes that are the site for protein synthesis. It can be looked at as a bread toaster. The bread is the polypeptide chain which comes to the ribosomes to be transformed to proteins.

Lastly, take the Golgi bodies for example, they help in the packaging and the distribution of materials around the cell. Imagine them as a bread factory after the bread has been made in the oven and has come for packaging.
