A set of bacterial clones each containing a plasmid or a phage is known as Gene or Genomic library.

It is the collection of all genomic DNA from a single organism.

Genomic libraries have an important role in the sequencing of several different organisms.

Once when a new organism is discovered it's gene is analysed and it must be categorised into a respective class, family and to a genus.
