The Odd One is VELOCITY.

Reason:

  • All the quantities (except Velocity) is a scalar quantity.

  • Distance , speed and time are scalar quantities having only magnitude and no directions.

  • But Velocity is a vector quantity having both magnitude and direction.

Additional information:

  • Distance refers to the total path length travelled by an object. It is always positive and never negative.

  • Speed refers to the the ratio of total Displacement to the total time taken , hence also positive and never negative.

  • But , Velocity is given by Displacement divided by time , hence can be negative , zero or positive.

Hope It Helps.

Answer:

velocity is odd from other quantities. other quantities are scalar.

velocity is a vector quantity.

Scalar quantity = scalar quantity only has magnitude.they don't have direction.

they follow simple rules of an algebraic method for sum, addition, and multiplication.

other examples of a scalar quantity

  • temperature
  • time
  • speed

vector quantities = vector quantities are those which have both magnitude and direction. if you add our subtract they follow vector addition and subtraction rules.

examples of vector quantity =

  • distance
  • force
  • acceleration
  • momentum
